A Southern Belle’s Bridal Luncheon

southernweddingv4_1024x1024

My friend Dean, a beautiful Southern Belle,  hosted a bridal luncheon for her niece last week.   She wanted to  ”pull out all the Southern traditions and treats” for her out of town guests.  The groom’s family is not from the South.  Well, I’m certain Dean, whose southern savvy outshines most,  accomplished her goal, leaving her guests feeling loved, honored and welcomed!

Dean’s sister, the mother-of-the-bride created the couple’s monogram — by hand! — for invitations, etc. I used it for the monogrammed cookies. (this IS the South y’all)  I loved the navy-ish on white with grey border combination.  I added a small white rope border to the square cookies.

I also made a simple but elegant wedding dress in white with a tiny white rose border and edible pearl encrusted roses for the sash.

The bridesmaid dresses in peach were adorned with a grey bow at the waist.

And you know how I LOVE glitter!  The  roses and bows glisten just the right amount.

Music to the Taste Buds!

One of the things I love about Nashville is that music is celebrated, as well as those who share their talents, at any level. These piano cookies were special “thank you” treats for some accomplished musicians of all ages and genres who performed for an intimate home concert. The pianos were sprinkled with Pixie Dust, then dried, and then brushed with luster dust to give them a shimmer.  The flood icing is vanilla glacee′, and the border is piped with royal icing. I heard it was a special evening and everyone’s sweet tooth was satisfied!  Well that’s just music to my ears… and taste buds! XOXO
