These birthday cookies were for a sweet friend’s dad in Memphis. He has worked for Rhodes College for 50 years. 50 years!I was so impressed, I had to pull out the gold luster dust!
The birthday cake cookie is embellished with the shield of the Rhodes logo. I piped the birthday candles with a 20 second royal icing and then after it was completely dry, I added the gold luster to the flames with a tiny paintbrush and gentle hand.
Another week of boutonniere alternative cookies. This time for Ensworth homecoming. I’ll tell you the truth — these E’s were a little more difficult than I expected. I finally got a steady hand and piped away! I messed up enough cookies that I know they tasted yummy!
Several girls bought the boutonniere alternative cookies, (I forgot to take a picture of them all tied up in the bags!). A whole group of boys bought two big “E” cookies each, tied up with a bow, to give to their dates at the end of the evening. How sweet!
